In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Ayah: 1 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالنَّازِعَاتِ
غَرْقًا
|
Shakir: |
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ
نَشْطًا
|
Shakir: |
And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالسَّابِحَاتِ
سَبْحًا
|
Shakir: |
And by those who float in space, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
فَالسَّابِقَاتِ
سَبْقًا
|
Shakir: |
Then those who are foremost going ahead, |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ
أَمْرًا
|
Shakir: |
Then those who regulate the affair. |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
يَوْمَ
تَرْجُفُ
الرَّاجِفَةُ
|
Shakir: |
The day on which the quaking one shall quake, |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
تَتْبَعُهَا
الرَّادِفَةُ
|
Shakir: |
What must happen afterwards shall follow it. |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
قُلُوبٌ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
وَاجِفَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Hearts on that day shall palpitate, |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
أَبْصَارُهَا
خَاشِعَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Their eyes cast down. |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
يَقُولُونَ
أَئِنَّا
لَمَرْدُودُونَ
فِي
الْحَافِرَةِ
|
Shakir: |
They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
أَئِذَا
كُنَّا
عِظَامًا
نَّخِرَةً
|
Shakir: |
What! when we are rotten bones? |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
قَالُوا
تِلْكَ
إِذًا
كَرَّةٌ
خَاسِرَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
فَإِنَّمَا
هِيَ
زَجْرَةٌ
وَاحِدَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
But it shall be only a single cry, |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
فَإِذَا
هُم
بِالسَّاهِرَةِ
|
Shakir: |
When lo! they shall be wakeful. |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
هَلْ
أتَاكَ
حَدِيثُ
مُوسَى
|
Shakir: |
Has not there come to you the story of Musa? |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
إِذْ
نَادَاهُ
رَبُّهُ
بِالْوَادِ
الْمُقَدَّسِ
طُوًى
|
Shakir: |
When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
اذْهَبْ
إِلَى
فِرْعَوْنَ
إِنَّهُ
طَغَى
|
Shakir: |
Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
فَقُلْ
هَل لَّكَ
إِلَى أَن
تَزَكَّى
|
Shakir: |
Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَهْدِيَكَ
إِلَى
رَبِّكَ
فَتَخْشَى
|
Shakir: |
And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَرَاهُ
الْآيَةَ
الْكُبْرَى
|
Shakir: |
So he showed him the mighty sign. |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
فَكَذَّبَ
وَعَصَى
|
Shakir: |
But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
ثُمَّ
أَدْبَرَ
يَسْعَى
|
Shakir: |
Then he went back hastily. |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
فَحَشَرَ
فَنَادَى
|
Shakir: |
Then he gathered (men) and called out. |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
فَقَالَ
أَنَا
رَبُّكُمُ
الْأَعْلَى
|
Shakir: |
Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَخَذَهُ
اللَّهُ
نَكَالَ
الْآخِرَةِ
وَالْأُولَى
|
Shakir: |
So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
فِي ذَلِكَ
لَعِبْرَةً
لِّمَن
يَخْشَى
|
Shakir: |
Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
أَأَنتُمْ
أَشَدُّ
خَلْقًا
أَمِ
السَّمَاء
بَنَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it. |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
رَفَعَ
سَمْكَهَا
فَسَوَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state. |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَغْطَشَ
لَيْلَهَا
وَأَخْرَجَ
ضُحَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And He made dark its night and brought out its light. |
Ayah: 30 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالْأَرْضَ
بَعْدَ
ذَلِكَ
دَحَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the earth, He expanded it after that. |
Ayah: 31 |
|
Arabic: |
أَخْرَجَ
مِنْهَا
مَاءهَا
وَمَرْعَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage. |
Ayah: 32 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالْجِبَالَ
أَرْسَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the mountains, He made them firm, |
Ayah: 33 |
|
Arabic: |
مَتَاعًا
لَّكُمْ
وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ
|
Shakir: |
A provision for you and for your cattle. |
Ayah: 34 |
|
Arabic: |
فَإِذَا
جَاءتِ
الطَّامَّةُ
الْكُبْرَى
|
Shakir: |
But when the great predominating calamity comes; |
Ayah: 35 |
|
Arabic: |
يَوْمَ
يَتَذَكَّرُ
الْإِنسَانُ
مَا سَعَى
|
Shakir: |
The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, |
Ayah: 36 |
|
Arabic: |
وَبُرِّزَتِ
الْجَحِيمُ
لِمَن
يَرَى
|
Shakir: |
And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees |
Ayah: 37 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَمَّا
مَن طَغَى
|
Shakir: |
Then as for him who is inordinate, |
Ayah: 38 |
|
Arabic: |
وَآثَرَ
الْحَيَاةَ
الدُّنْيَا
|
Shakir: |
And prefers the life of this world, |
Ayah: 39 |
|
Arabic: |
فَإِنَّ
الْجَحِيمَ
هِيَ
الْمَأْوَى
|
Shakir: |
Then surely the hell, that is the abode. |
Ayah: 40 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَمَّا
مَنْ خَافَ
مَقَامَ
رَبِّهِ
وَنَهَى
النَّفْسَ
عَنِ
الْهَوَى
|
Shakir: |
And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires, |
Ayah: 41 |
|
Arabic: |
فَإِنَّ
الْجَنَّةَ
هِيَ
الْمَأْوَى
|
Shakir: |
Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. |
Ayah: 42 |
|
Arabic: |
يَسْأَلُونَكَ
عَنِ
السَّاعَةِ
أَيَّانَ
مُرْسَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
They ask you about the hour, when it will come. |
Ayah: 43 |
|
Arabic: |
فِيمَ
أَنتَ مِن
ذِكْرَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
About what! You are one to remind of it. |
Ayah: 44 |
|
Arabic: |
إِلَى
رَبِّكَ
مُنتَهَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
To your Lord is the goal of it. |
Ayah: 45 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّمَا
أَنتَ
مُنذِرُ
مَن
يَخْشَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
You are only a warner to him who would fear it. |
Ayah: 46 |
|
Arabic: |
كَأَنَّهُمْ
يَوْمَ
يَرَوْنَهَا
لَمْ
يَلْبَثُوا
إِلَّا
عَشِيَّةً
أَوْ
ضُحَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it. |
