11 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation

Ayah: 1
Arabic: يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
Pickthal: All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, the Mighty, the Wise.
Shakir: Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth declares the glory of Allah, the King, the Holy, the Mighty, the Wise.
Yusuf Ali: Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted inMight, the Wise.

Ayah: 2
Arabic: هُوَ الَّذِي بَعَثَ فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا مِن قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
Pickthal: He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow,and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they wereindeed in error manifest,
Shakir: He it is Who raised among the inhabitants of Mecca an Messenger from among themselves, who recites to them His communications and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom, although they were before certainly in clear error,
Yusuf Ali: It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and toinstruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, inmanifest error;-

Ayah: 3
Arabic: وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Pickthal: Along with others of them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Shakir: And others from among them who have not yet joined them; and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Yusuf Ali: As well as (to confer all these benefits upon) others of them, who have not already joined them: And He is exalted in Might, Wise.

Ayah: 4
Arabic: ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاء وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ
Pickthal: That is the bounty of Allah; which He giveth unto whom He will. Allah is of Infinite Bounty.
Shakir: That is Allah's grace; He grants it to whom He pleases, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace.
Yusuf Ali: Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty.

Ayah: 5
Arabic: مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ الْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًا بِئْسَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Pickthal: The likeness of those who are entrusted with the Law of Moses, yet apply it not, is as the likeness of the ass carrying books. Wretched isthe likeness of folk who deny the revelations of Allah. And Allah guidethnot wrongdoing folk.
Shakir: The likeness of those who were charged with the Taurat, then they did not observe it, is as the likeness of the ass bearing books, evil is the likeness of the people who reject the communications of Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.
Yusuf Ali: The similitude of those who were charged with the (obligations of the) Mosaic Law, but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), isthat of a donkey which carries huge tomes (but understands them not). Evilis the similitude of people who falsify the Signs of Allah: and Allah guidesnot people who do wrong.

Ayah: 6
Arabic: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ هَادُوا إِن زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّكُمْ أَوْلِيَاء لِلَّهِ مِن دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Pickthal: Say (O Muhammad): O ye who are Jews! If ye claim that ye are favoured of Allah apart from (all) mankind, then long for death if ye aretruthful.
Shakir: Say: O you who are Jews, if you think that you are the favorites of Allah to the exclusion of other people, then invoke death If you are truthful.
Yusuf Ali: Say: "O ye that stand on Judaism! If ye think that ye are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of (other) men, then express your desirefor Death, if ye are truthful!"

Ayah: 7
Arabic: وَلَا يَتَمَنَّوْنَهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ
Pickthal: But they will never long for it because of all that their own hands have sent before, and Allah is Aware of evil-doers.
Shakir: And they will never invoke it because of what their hands have sent before; and Allah is Cognizant of the unjust.
Yusuf Ali: But never will they express their desire (for Death), because of the (deeds) their hands have sent on before them! and Allah knows wellthose that do wrong!

Ayah: 8
Arabic: قُلْ إِنَّ الْمَوْتَ الَّذِي تَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ مُلَاقِيكُمْ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Pickthal: Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! the death from which ye shrink will surely meet you, and afterward ye will be returned unto theKnower of the Invisible and the Visible, and He will tell you what ye usedto do.
Shakir: Say: (As for) the death from which you flee, that will surely overtake you, then you shall be sent back to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of that which you did.
Yusuf Ali: Say: "The Death from which ye flee will truly overtake you: then will ye be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and Hewill tell you (the truth of) the things that ye did!"

Ayah: 9
Arabic: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِي لِلصَّلَاةِ مِن يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَذَرُوا الْبَيْعَ ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Pickthal: O ye who believe! When the call is heard for the prayer of the day of congregation, haste unto remembrance of Allah and leave yourtrading. That is better for you if ye did but know.
Shakir: O you who believe! when the call is made for prayer on Friday, then hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trading; that is better for you, if you know.
Yusuf Ali: O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah,and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!

Ayah: 10
Arabic: فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَانتَشِرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Pickthal: And when the prayer is ended, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah's bounty, and remember Allah much, that ye may besuccessful.
Shakir: But when the prayer is ended, then disperse abroad in the land and seek of Allah's grace, and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.
Yusuf Ali: And when the Prayer is finished, then may ye disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty of Allah: and celebrate the Praises of Allahoften (and without stint): that ye may prosper.

Ayah: 11
Arabic: وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا قُلْ مَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ اللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ التِّجَارَةِ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Pickthal: But when they spy some merchandise or pastime they break away to it and leave thee standing. Say: That which Allah hath is better thanpastime and than merchandise, and Allah is the Best of providers.
Shakir: And when they see merchandise or sport they break up for It, and leave you standing. Say: What is with Allah is better than sport and (better) than merchandise, and Allah is the best of Sustainers.
Yusuf Ali: But when they see some bargain or some amusement, they disperse headlong to it, and leave thee standing. Say: "The (blessing) fromthe Presence of Allah is better than any amusement or bargain! and Allah is theBest to provide (for all needs)."
