In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

| Arabic: |
أَرَأَيْتَ
الَّذِي
يُكَذِّبُ
بِالدِّينِ
|
| Pickthal: |
Hast thou observed him who belieth religion? |
| Shakir: |
Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie? |
| Yusuf Ali: |
Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)? |
| Ayah: 2 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَذَلِكَ
الَّذِي
يَدُعُّ
الْيَتِيمَ
|
| Pickthal: |
That is he who repelleth the orphan, |
| Shakir: |
That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness, |
| Yusuf Ali: |
Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness), |
| Ayah: 3 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَلَا
يَحُضُّ
عَلَى
طَعَامِ
الْمِسْكِينِ
|
| Pickthal: |
And urgeth not the feeding of the needy. |
| Shakir: |
And does not urge (others) to feed the poor. |
| Yusuf Ali: |
And encourages not the feeding of the indigent. |
| Ayah: 4 |

| Arabic: |
فَوَيْلٌ
لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
|
| Pickthal: |
Ah, woe unto worshippers |
| Shakir: |
So woe to the praying ones, |
| Yusuf Ali: |
So woe to the worshippers |
| Ayah: 5 |
|
| Arabic: |
الَّذِينَ
هُمْ عَن
صَلَاتِهِمْ
سَاهُونَ
|
| Pickthal: |
Who are heedless of their prayer; |
| Shakir: |
Who are unmindful of their prayers, |
| Yusuf Ali: |
Who are neglectful of their prayers, |
| Ayah: 6 |
|
| Arabic: |
الَّذِينَ
هُمْ
يُرَاؤُونَ
|
| Pickthal: |
Who would be seen (at worship) |
| Shakir: |
Who do (good) to be seen, |
| Yusuf Ali: |
Those who (want but) to be seen (of men), |
| Ayah: 7 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَيَمْنَعُونَ
الْمَاعُونَ
|
| Pickthal: |
Yet refuse small kindnesses! |
| Shakir: |
And withhold the necessaries of life. |
| Yusuf Ali: |
But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs. |
