Translations

Surah Al-Lail (the night)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Total Verses : 21 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation

Ayah: 2
Arabic:	وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى
Pickthal:	And the day resplendent

Ayah: 3
Arabic:	وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى
Pickthal:	And Him Who hath created male and female,

Ayah: 4
Arabic:	إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى
Pickthal:	Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends).

Ayah: 5
Arabic:	فَأَمَّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى
Pickthal:	As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah)

Ayah: 7
Arabic:	فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى
Pickthal:	Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease.

Ayah: 8
Arabic:	وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى
Pickthal:	But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent,

Ayah: 9
Arabic:	وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى
Pickthal:	And disbelieveth in goodness;

Ayah: 10
Arabic:	فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى
Pickthal:	Surely We will ease his way unto adversity.

Ayah: 11
Arabic:	وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى
Pickthal:	His riches will not save him when he perisheth.

Ayah: 12
Arabic:	إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى
Pickthal:	Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance

Ayah: 13
Arabic:	وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى
Pickthal:	And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former.

Ayah: 14
Arabic:	فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّى
Pickthal:	Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire

Ayah: 15
Arabic:	لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى
Pickthal:	Which only the most wretched must endure,

Ayah: 16
Arabic:	الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى
Pickthal:	He who denieth and turneth away.

Ayah: 17
Arabic:	وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى
Pickthal:	Far removed from it will be the righteous

Ayah: 18
Arabic:	الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى
Pickthal:	Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness).

Ayah: 19
Arabic:	وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى
Pickthal:	And none hath with him any favour for reward,

Ayah: 20
Arabic:	إِلَّا ابْتِغَاء وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى
Pickthal:	Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High.
